Innovative Learning Environment
The Island School provides an innovative environment which enriches the lives of its children, parents and community. The Island School’s curriculum is compliant with Florida's Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards. In addition, The Island School has high academic standards and is fully committed to meeting the needs of each student.
The emerging global economy is demanding self-motivated, independent thinkers. Children who will lead us successfully into the future must be intrinsically motivated, self-governing, versatile, and able to derive knowledge from experience - all attributes nurtured in our school.

Wit & Wisdom
Wit & Wisdom™ is a comprehensive K–5 English language arts curriculum crafted to help students build the knowledge and skills they need to be successful readers, exceptional writers, and effective communicators.
Eureka Math
Thoughtfully constructed and designed like a story, Eureka Math is meticulously coherent, with an intense focus on key concepts that layer over time, creating enduring knowledge. Students gain a complete body of math knowledge, not just a discrete set of skills. They use the same models and problem-solving methods from grade to grade, so math concepts stay with them, year after year.
Fundations
Pioneered by Barbara Wilson and grounded in the science of reading, Fundations delivers effective instruction in decoding, encoding, handwriting, morphology, and syntax to help students build strong skills for independent reading.
Wilson Reading System
Based on more than three decades of data, WRS is designed for students in Grades 2–5 with word-level deficits who are not making sufficient progress through their current intervention, have been unable to learn with other teaching strategies, or who require more intensive Structured Literacy instruction due to a language-based learning disability, such as dyslexia.
